MMK9 Kirby Playday, Jan 8, 2017
Mission Miracle K9 Rescue was doing evaluations and running playgroup last Sunday at Kirby Animal Shelter. Lots of people and dogs showed up! Here are some pics! (Note: The people looking at their phones in many of the shots are videoing the dog interactions. They aren’t looking at their FB page ;-) )
Couple landscape photos with my Nikon D500
Didn’t do any serious shooting this trip. Weather kinda sucked and left my good glass at home. Shot these with my Nikon D500 and my 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6. It’s just a gut feeling, but I think my D750 has better dynamic range and is better suited for landscapes. Still, the D500 is no slouch.
Kirby Transport, Nov 25, 2016
Well, it’s Black Friday and I had to–quite literally–get up at the crack of dawn to…that’s right, take photos of some dogs! HAHA This special group of dogs from the Kirby Animal Shelter was boarding a transport captained by Matt Montes bound for the great Pacific Northwest and beyond! Good luck my canine friends!

Here are some shots at an adoption event at Pet Supplies Plus on November 15, 2016. The dogs are from the Kirby Animal Shelter, if you’re interested. Finally got to take my Nikon D500 out for a spin! It is everything people are saying and more. Incredible camera!
Lake Arrowhead birds
Took some shots of ducks, egrets and cormorants down at Grass Valley Lake. Set up some bird seed and zip-tied a dead branch to my deck railing and got some nice shots of Stellar Jays, woodpeckers and even a Northern Flicker. The birds didn’t seem to care it was a set up ;-)
