Nebraska/Iowa Trip

Kimberly took me up to Nebraska/Iowa to meet her family. It was my first trip up to that part of the country and I had a wonderful time. Her family is just great. Spring hadn’t arrived yet, so it was pretty brown and overcast for most of the trip. There still were a few hints of winter snow. I only pulled out my DSLR at her Dad’s farm near Sioux City. Never been on a farm before. Lots of interesting stuff. Porter the cat, who is in a lot of the shots, was more dog than feline. He followed us all around just like a farm dog.

  • Doug, Your photos from your Iowa trip are beautiful! Love the old red water pump (brought back memories as we used to have a working one on our acreage in Iowa too). And of course the big red barn and gently rolling plains of Iowa. And adorable Porter. Thank you for sharing! I found your website via Kim’s fb page. You should visit during summer next trip to Iowa…everything is lush and green! Miles and miles of green corn, soybean fields and sunsets. I just moved to Florida and missed seeing you and Kimberly during your trip…hope to meet you and see ya’ll sometime. All my best! – Kim’s cousin Nichole
