Holiday trip to Cali!

Took two weeks off for Christmas and New Years. My gf was only able to take one week, but we made the most of it. We had the entire family gathered for Christmas: Mom and Dad, all five kids with significant others, and amazingly all 11 grandkids! It was a special evening for sure.

I hauled both my Nikon D750 and D7200 along with my 14-24mm f/2.8, 24-70mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.4, 70-200mm f/2.8 and Sigma 150-600mm. It all fit in my Gura Gear Kiboko 22L+. I even got my Surface Pro 3 as well as my Arc Touch mouse, 2TB portable drive, chargers, cables, Bluetooth speaker, adapters, etc. in there! No problem fitting it under the seat in front of me on the plane. That bag is just amazing. Here are some shots of the interior.

This was the first time I had all of this equipment with me so I made the most of it. The woodpeckers were shot through a less-than-sparkling-clean window and I used the flash only on the family shots. Definitely could have used one with the street performer on the Santa Monica pier, but pushing the ISO was all i could do. Literally ran outside to get the hawk and wasn’t prepared. Felt lucky to get the shot I did get.

Processed with LRCC and ran the darker images though DxO OpticsPro.
