Well, I gave it a shot, but the Sandisk Sansa Connect just doesn’t work for me. WiFi is cool, but it only works with Yahoo Music. The player will work with Napster, my service of choice, but just in the normal sense. That is, you transfer the songs over the cable. It also doesn’t use a standard USB mini-connector on the player side, so you’ll need to carry the cable around to charge. Also, to use the WiFi, only WEP encryption is supported, no WPA! I had to change my whole network set up to filter by MAC to keep adequate security. (UPDATE:Supposedly, WPA is supported. Not sure why it didn’t work for me, but I prolly entered the passphrase wrong.) It also has no bookmark feature and the scrollwheel is very difficult to control. Getting music wirelessly is awkward. You go through songs and flag to download. The songs can be played normally after downloaded. It would be much cooler to stream the songs as they are selected, like is done with Rhapsody on the Nokia N800. Perhaps I could get used to it, but that’s not gonna happen.
I’m very disappointed since I’ve been looking forward to this device since it was announced at CES.
